Bugs Could Be Key to Kicking Oil Addiction - Yahoo! News
This is something that is in its infancy but is very promising. Using the bugs, as it were, means that any cellulosic material (plants) can be made into fuel. So when that cheap desk your folks bought you when you were 7 falls to pieces, you can recycle it into "gasoline." Likewise, paper, magazines, cardboard, grass clippings, cornstalks, kudzu!, wheat, chaff, etc. can all be made into fuel at a much lower price than current ethanol processes. Think ADM will be happy? Expect them to lobby heavily against this or perhaps even more heavily for their own, less efficient, corn method. The future is once again an interesting place.
