Idle hands do the Devil's work.

Our wonderful dog Lupita

Here's a picture of Lupita. We had to put her down today because she was a little too intense at times. She liked the taste of some people's ankles and didn't like one dog in the community. After she locked down on the other dog we were too afraid it might be a human next, especially afraid it might be a kid. Thus, the bad news. We loved her so much and she was just the dog I always wanted. She could play fetch for hours, was great indoors, and loved us as much as we loved her.

10/01/05: It's incredible that we were able to put her down. I see it now as an amazing act of integrity, knowing that our dog, whom we loved beyond doubt, was not a fit for our community. And knowing that we could never dump her on a roadside again, like she was when we found her. We love her to this day and always will.

Losing a dog - for whatever reason - is so hard, and so intense. People think you're daft for grieving - believe me, you're not.

Sending you big hugs.

That is very sad, Steve. It must have been a very difficult thing to do, to put it mildly. As sad as it was, your decision nonetheless took good judgement, courage, and ultimately, love, so I'm not surprised, because I've never known those qualities to be in short supply in your household. I'm sorry for your loss.
